The Story of Partners In
Charity (PIC)
A Down
Payment
Assistance Program
and Local Charity Supporter.
The inspiration of Partners In Charity
comes from a beautifully written book by Shel Silverstein called "The
Giving Tree". Those of you with children have probably seen this book
or read it to your children. In the book, the tree continues to give to
provide the young boy, who is the main character, with the things he needs
throughout his life.
Partners In Charity uses the tree in
their logo to symbolize how people can come together to make the dreams of
the community come true. Through participation in the PIC down payment
assistance program buyers, sellers, realtors, lenders and builders help
their community.
Our mission is quite simple. We believe
that anyone who dreams of owning their own home deserves a chance of
homeownership. No one should be destined to rent property or land if they’ve
been a decent tenant and made their rent payments on time. Unfortunately,
many renters know that saving for the down payment on a home in addition
to the closing costs is sometimes impossible. At PIC we made it our
mission to change that. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to
giving down payment and closing cost assistance to all homebuyers. Whether
you’re a first-time buyer, move-up buyer or simply starting over, we’re
there to help you out.
In addition to providing buyers with
down payment and closing costs assistance, we give a portion of every
transaction to a local charity. The more transactions a community closes,
the more the local charities benefit. We believe this philosophy builds
strong communities through homeownership and community involvement.
